Meet, Eat and Talk

Crisis, cutbacks, restrictions, and other obstacles to artistic work are all too familiar to us. A great deal of time and energy goes into solving the immediate, the here and now. But we also need to talk about visions—about new goals and ways of thinking beyond what is currently possible. We must inform the public discourse that shapes how people see who we are and what we do. Art as nourishing, not depleting, to the social body. Art as a prerequisite for societal and cultural development. Visions should fuel the strategies needed for growth and transformation. What could be possible?

Kris, neddragningar, begränsningar och andra hinder för konstnärlig verksamhet känner vi väl till. Mycket tid och energi går till att lösa det akuta, här och nu. Men vi behöver också prata om visioner, om nya målbilder och öva oss på att tänka förbi det givna. Vi måste informera det offentliga samtal som påverkar människors bild av vilka vi är och vad vi gör. Konst som närande, inte tärande på samhällskroppen. Konst som förutsättning för samhällelig och kulturell utveckling. Visioner ska ge näring åt de strategier som ska till för att utveckla och förändra. Hur skulle det kunna vara?org)
